2022-2023

What is Battle of the Books?

Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for 5th-grade students. Students read 10 pre-selected books and then come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books they have read. They work in teams of 3 - 4 to compete against other school teams in the district.

When is the competition?

The competition will be in May 2023.

More details will be sent to the elementary campuses as we get nearer to the competition dates.

Where can I find the books?

All of our books may be found on our Sora app. Additionally, most are available in print at all of our elementary libraries, and all the titles except Ban This Book are available on Learning Ally. Learning Ally is an "Audiobook Solution" for students that have trouble accessing print materials for a variety of reasons; reading deficit, visual impairment, and some physical impairments. If you feel your child should have access to this resource, please contact your child's teacher.


The books are also available at our local public libraries including San Antonio Public Library, Converse Public Library, and Universal City Public Library.
