Granville Academy K-5 & 6-8 Family Support/Outreach Groups
K-5 & 6-8 Granville Academy families:
There are two Facebook groups that are set up for GA Pirates and families in grades K-5 & 6-8 (as parents and students) to come together and get to know each other better. The idea behind the pages is to have somewhere to go for support (help with assignments that may be confusing) or to plan a fun outing with the group ("Hey, anyone want to go to the park and have lunch this Friday?").
Please note the pages are set up to protect the privacy of students & families. Only GA Pirates are allowed to join. Please search for the groups on Facebook!
We are looking forward to getting to know our GA Pirates!

Information Grades 6-8
Many of our Middle School Pirates have expressed interest in wanting to have a holiday party...
Well, their wish has been granted!!!
We will be having a middle grades holiday party at the Mary Potter campus on Friday, December 20th from 9am-12pm. All middle school activities will take place in Mrs. Young's room (room 308).
Students will make holiday cards for residents at our local nursing home, enjoy an ice cream bar, and enjoy a movie together!
Please let us know if your student is interested in attending by completing this form as soon as possible so we know how much ice cream to get!
Message from Mrs. Glass
The second semester is fast approaching! If you have any candidates for High school credit courses, please reach out to Mrs. Annette Glass (glassap@gcs.k12.nc.us) for more information.
Granville Online offers Earth Science, English 1, Spanish and World History for students that may wish to start with HS credit courses while in Middle School!
We also offer Creative Writing for MS students as a MS elective credit with Mrs. Barbara Poole!
Please make all of the requests using this form and ideally all requests should be made before the holiday break in December.
Thank you!
Weekly Message from the MS Teachers:
I have attached the checklist for each grade for this week and they have also been posted on Google Classroom for students.
The Science Olympiad team is selling popcorn! If you are interested in purchasing popcorn, please click here. Please feel free to share the link with whoever you like! However, it's only open for 4 days so you have to order quickly! All popcorn is ordered and paid for online, and is then shipped directly to your house!
There will be Science Olympiad practice tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Mary Potter campus until 2:30pm. There will not be practice at the Tar River campus this week due to me being at a training all day on Wednesday. There will be an extended practice at the Tar River campus next week to try and make up time. Students can still be preparing for their events
There is tutoring today (Monday) at the Mary Potter campus and on Wednesday at the Tar River campus until 3:00pm. Students who come to tutoring need to have work to do while they are at after school tutoring.
