Principal's Message

This is a message that is shared with our MES staff each week and I thought I would share it with our school community as well.

Coming together as a team doesn't mean we all have to think the same, act the same, or be the same... it means we can collectively agree on our common purpose. I am confident we can do that this year and create an amazing place for student learning and growth!

Core Values

Student First Decision Making

Honesty and Transparency

Listen to Understand

Realize we are All Humans

Molalla Elementary Vision

To provide an inclusive environment where all students can be themselves; feeling safe, valued, and having their needs met in order to reach their full potential.

A few highlights

Health Curriculum Communication

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Health education is an important part of a student's development and learning. As a district, it is our responsibility to teach the health standards and comply with the law that has set these standards in place. Standards were developed with a variety of healthcare professionals’ input. Careful consideration was given to health trends that have presented themselves over a significant period of time and correlate with specific ages. If you would like to view the standards they are attached here. K-12 Health Standards

MRSD honors the role of the family/guardian as being the primary teacher and respects families' rights to be fully informed and involved in choosing what is best for their own student. In accordance with Oregon’s laws, parents/guardians are provided the opportunity to preview all lessons and materials that will be used during instruction.

If you would like to preview the materials, please contact Mike Sauers, principal at Molalla Elementary School. If you choose to have your student opted-out of the specific units of instruction, please contact me, Mike Sauers, to engage in a conversation on how to best support your student in a respectful, non-judgmental way.

State Testing

Molalla Elementary School will be participating in full state testing this year, as will all elementary schools in the state or Oregon. If you would like to learn more about state testing please visit this link. If you would like to opt your child out of state testing please visit the MRSD website.

Exclusion & Quarantine

If your child is in quarantine, know that we have a plan in place to ensure he/she is connected with and given instruction that fits the needs of the child and family. You can expect to get a phone call from your child's teacher to create a plan for instruction during the time your child will be home.
