A Health Update from MJ1 Schools
March 13, 2020
Dear Staff, Parents, and Community Members,
As we near the end of spring break the Minocqua J1 District continues to actively monitor the evolving situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19). We have been in contact with the Oneida County Health Department and continue to receive guidance from county, state, and federal health departments as the situation continues to develop. The Minocqua J1 District’s number one priority is the health, safety, and well being of all students. IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD HAS TRAVELED FOR SPRING BREAK OR OTHER REASONS, THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO US FROM COUNTY AND STATE AGENCIES:
If you have traveled or planning to travel to any international areas visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/after-travel-precautions.html:
If you traveled to a Level 3 Travel Health Notice Country
Stay home for 14 days from the time you left an area with widespread, ongoing community spread (Level 3 Travel Health Notice countries) and practice social distancing.
If you only spent time in an airport in a Level 3 Travel Health Notice Country
At this time, you are not being asked to quarantine yourself if your only time in a Level 3 country was in an airport. However, if you have COVID-19 symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
If you traveled to a Level 2 Travel Health Notice Country
At this time, individuals are not being asked to quarantine themselves. As a precaution, you should limit your interactions with other people and large groups for 14 days after you return. However, if you have COVID-19 symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
If you traveled or planning to travel out-of-state:
Visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.html
Place your cursor over the map of the United States of America under “States Reporting Cases of COVID-19 to CDC*”. If the State has a pop-up that states “Sustained Community Transmission: Yes”, then individuals will have to complete a 14-day voluntary self-quarantine.
If you traveled in-state:
At this time, you are not being asked to quarantine yourself however, if you have COVID-19 symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
At this time, no cruise travel is advised by CDC, especially for those with underlying health conditions: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/covid-19-cruise-ship
Note: Because this changes quickly, verify travel destinations closer to the time of departure. Different countries in Europe were added to Level 3 after the State came out with their guidance: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/warning/coronavirus-europe
