Hillsborough County Public Schools is celebrating a graduation rate of 87.9% for the 2021-2022 academic year. This represents a 2.1% increase over a five year period, and an improvement from a pre-pandemic graduation rate of 86.2%.
Following two academic years plagued by interruptions due to the pandemic, it is not surprising that state graduation rates have declined from last year, and HCPS is no different. This is in part due to graduation requirements that were waived statewide during the pandemic, as well as learning loss from the educational disruptions. HCPS is encouraged that our students have realized a graduation rate improvement when compared to 2019 graduation rates.
