Where Are We Now? - The Implementation Update

We started off this semester having reached and surpassed some major benchmarks: the addition of grade passback, the opening of parent/guardian accounts and over 15,000 users in the platform! Congratulations to everyone who has made this such a successful experience!


  • Fourth quarter (Q4) courses are open.
  • If your site made adjustments to Quarter 3’s end date due to the snow days, have your administration talk to Lori Hartman, Director of Digital Integration Services, about getting access to the Q3 courses.
  • We are working on special roles for Resource teachers and paras. If you need temporary advisor capabilities until the technical process has been vetted, please submit a help ticket to help@asd20.org.
  • As we make progress with those features we’ll communicate updates.

Worth noting as of February 28, 2019:

  • Total users = 16,061
  • Total student users = 13,661
  • Total visits = 1,696,034
  • = WOW!

Keep in mind that we’re still at the beginning of a journey. We have a lot of ground to cover and we’re just learning the terrain. Partner with us by participating, asking questions, and providing feedback so that we can continue to grow. That participation is helping us work to meet your needs.

Parent-Teacher Conferences and Schoology

Did you know that you can see the parent view of Schoology? What a great way to walk parents through their child’s work during conferences!

How to display the parent view:

  • Under your course picture, click on Course Options

  • Click on View Course As

  • You will have the option to choose member (the student) or parent

  • Choose parent

  • The parent will only be able to see their child’s work


Did you know...

You can now Individually Assign Materials in Schoology!

You might be feeling that this was always a possibility, but not quite. Previously you could only individually assign Discussions, Test/Quizzes, Assessments and Pages. Now you can individually assign Files, Links, External Tools, Media Albums and more!

Parents and 20Learn powered by Schoology

Parents are able to login to 20Learn powered by Schoology. Once parents login, they will have an introductory course waiting for them. This course will walk them through how to use the platform as a parent. As with courses, parents will not need to associate their children with their account; that has been done for them. Parent associations are determined by Infinite Campus records.

Parents login at asd20.schoology.com

  • Username = ad\ICusername
  • Password = IC password

If a parent is not seeing their child’s account, please submit a Help Ticket to help@asd20.org and we’ll make those associations.

Grade Passback - Moving Assignments from Schoology to Infinite Campus

Grade Passback between Schoology and IC is available!

This is not a totally automatic process. To guide you through the process, we have created a training course in Schoology. That course is now available! Use Access Code P8H3N-P7QGG to join.

A couple of important notes:

  • Due to the nature of elementary grades in IC, this feature is only available at the secondary level for now. Elementary teachers, be patient, good things are coming!
  • Factors do not transfer (if you use them).

  • Make sure to categorize assignments before you re-syncing.

  • Assigned dates do not transfer at this time. If the assigned date is important, add it to the description.

  • Just because we have this ability, doesn’t mean you are required to use it.

Preparing for ALEC's Sunset

The sun will set on ALEC at the end of the school year.

What does this mean to you? It means that there will no longer be any support for ALEC and you will no longer have access to any courses from this year or previous years.

If you have ANY content in ALEC, partner with your DLC for help downloading a backup of your materials. You can store the download in your OneDrive or upload it to Schoology.
