Upcoming Primary events:
New work in the classroom includes: Children in the primary classrooms did a wonderful job cleaning up our playgrounds and throwing away trash that the wind had blown onto our school grounds. They really enjoyed Earth day and made our school building and grounds look nice.
Primary children and teachers reviewed our ALICE safety protocols, reread the book, “I am not scared, I am prepared” and discussed different scenarios of if a wild animal entered our school, what we would do to keep safe, be prepared and calm. This is a safety drill we have practiced all year long.
Math works completed: Kindergarten children have been writing their numerals to 100 and some even past 100. Preschool children have been counting to over 20, some preschool children to 100. Science: Animal tracks. Children will complete some fun crafts and activities that are centered on the study of Australia. Animal classification of animals with fur, feathers and scales, parts of a whale book, parts of a chick, parts of a bat book. Geography- the study of Australia and the study of South America.
Friday, April 29 th. Primary classrooms will walk to the Crawford lIbrary for storytime at 10 am. Half day children pick up will take place at the Crawford town park at the regular time, as we will play on the playground and have a picnic lunch after storytime. Please meet us at the park by 11:20 am.
Next week: Kindergarten children will complete their Benchmark Dibels reading assessments within the next 2 weeks. Please let us know if there will be any absences. It will be wonderful to see how far they have grown this school year with their reading skills. A good night’s rest each day is always helpful for them when they complete these assessments. Thank you.
