Time to Tighten Up in 2022! REMINDERS!!!!!! READ ME!!!!!
We have had an abundance of discipline issues and lack of following through on expectations set forth at orientation and in our handbook to be/ stay a Clark student. This MUST change in semester 2. Here are a few of the situations where students are abusing the freedoms here at Clark. More significant discipline consequences will be enforced next semester as we need to ensure a safe, positive LEARNING environment for all. After all, learning is the priority at Clark!
Commonly abused expectations:
- Arriving to class on time, daily- once in a while, traffic is heavy, you oversleep, your ride is late, but this cannot become a continual excuse for simply not planning properly.
- Not having ID card- we understand forgetting it once... after a warning, your parent will be notified and the $10 replacement charge will be added. Repeated refusal to present your ID will be handled through consequences related to defiance.
- Dress code (extremely short shorts/dresses, spaghetti straps, undergarments showing, much more midriff...)
- Leaving campus during class times without seeing Mrs. Wood and being signed out at the front desk first.

Way to Go Wednesdays! Christian Bastidas found a wad of money totaling $195.00 in the public bathroom at work and brought it to his father who then together proceeded to go around looking for a vendor who looked like they lost it. They found one who was searching his pockets etc and returned it to him. What a good example of honesty he showed us all. That’s an amazing act of good character!
Thankful Thursdays! Today is thankful Thursday! Did you know that writing down three things you are grateful for each morning can actually help you live longer? It’s tough to be sad or angry when you focus on gratitude. Try it! You’ve got nothing to lose!
Fun Fact Fridays! Did you know that there are many more classes held this semester during block 3 than block 1? So that means, morning announcements will be moved to the beginning of block 3 starting monday. By law, the moment of silence will remain to start the day, as well as the pledge of allegiance.
Handbook Highlight p. 14- Cell phone/ Electronic Device Use REMINDER!!!!!
Most of our teachers already require phones to be placed in the numbered holders in the classroom upon entering class. Please note that it is not optional. We will be expecting all students to comply with our code of conduct that prohibits having your phone within reach during class time, unless a teacher is having you use it for classroom instruction/ activities. Non-compliance will be handled through the consequences in the handbook (begins on page 32 and can include confiscation of phone for parent pick up).
