JMMS Weekly Staff Update
We are the Dustdevils!
Happy Friday Everyone!
Below you will find all the updated information you need as we go into Spring Break.
Please note that the roles and the schedule that is linked are CONFIDENTIAL and should not be shared outside of the JMMS staff. We are still using that as a draft and working document. We will have a more concrete document to share to the families as well sometime during Spring Break. As a reminder for when we return, we will need to be up and running with our online platforms by April 15th. If you are someone who feels confident in Google Classrooms or even Zoom, please reach out to your colleagues to support. You can also always text or email Becca and I with questions.
We also want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your support, dedication, and flexibility during these last few weeks. Between the closing of our school to the countless hours of Zoom meetings and online trainings, we have watched the connection and community within our staff grow tremendously. We are so proud to be a part of the JMMS family and we know without a doubt that we will rise up to this next challenge together as a team.
We realize that this Spring Break may not be what we had imagined, but try to find some moments of calm and relaxation to help you rest and recharge. We are going to need to be at the top of our game when we return. Quarantine and Coffee will also still be open for those want to join each Wednesday at 10am. As always, it is just optional.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts to all of you for making these last few weeks go as smoothly as possible.
Casey and Becca

Enhancements to Zoom
At Zoom, ensuring the privacy and security of your meetings is our top priority. Based on feedback from our education community, we’ve recently released a product enhancement to give teachers more control over their meetings.
Host Sharing Enhancements
As of yesterday, March 26th, the screen sharing settings within your account have automatically defaulted to “Only Host”. This setting gives hosts sole permission to share content within their meetings by default.
How do I give meeting participants the ability to share?
If you’d like to give participants screen sharing permission when hosting your next meeting, simply click the arrow to the right of the Screen Sharing icon, select Advanced Sharing Options and select All Participants.
If you’d like to re-enable participant content sharing at the account level, please visit zoom.us/account/setting > In Meetings (Advanced) > and select All Participants (fig 1).
If your end-users would like to re-enable participant content sharing at the individual level, please visit zoom.us/profile/setting > Screen Sharing > and select All Participants (fig. 2).

AUSD Student Services Website!
The AUSD staff launched a new series called "Tidings and Teachings." AUSD staff will be sending their thoughts, love, and learning to our families daily (M-F). Last Friday was the first day, and Mrs. Irick, from our CELC campus, shared an art lesson in her PJs because it was also Alpine PJ day. Below you will find the sign-up sheet to be a part of this new venture! It is a neat opportunity for all of us to stay connected.
IRIS Emergency Alert App
As a District, we are excited to implement the IRIS Alert app. We (Becca, Tamara, and Yvette) will be leading the implementation of the app and can answer your questions. This emergency alert platform will provide two-way communication in real-time for all AUSD staff. We had initially planned to roll it out next year, but given the current situation, we decided to give this platform this year. It is simple and easy to use. While voluntary, we highly encourage each of you to download the app. Stay tuned for more information and follow the directions below.
Quick Set-Up Guide:
1) Visit your respective Apple or Google Play store here to download the IRIS Alert app:
Once loaded onto your Apple or Android device, please complete the following steps:
2) “Allow” IRIS Alert to send you notifications
3) Touch "New Account"
4) Enter IRIS Alert organizational code: JMMSUser (case sensitive)
5) Enter your First and Last NAME, email address, and create a personal password
6) Follow prompts entering all necessary information
7) Welcome to IRIS Alert
