The Road Map Starting Point
Stakeholder Voice (SV)
SV.01 - Organizational leadership identifies key stakeholder groups and invites them to become a part of the shared vision process.
- Why is it important to include stakeholders?
- Have we considered students, parents, business leaders, elders, and staff to be part of the shared vision process?
SV.02 – Organizational leadership deploys process so stakeholder voice plays a vital role in the development of shared vision and aligned decision and aligned decision-making.
- Have we used a variety of tools to create a safe environment to “hear” from stakeholder representatives?
Creating & Developing Shared Vision (CD.SV)
- Why is it necessary to have a shared vision (what is our burning platform or reason to change)?
- What might the ideal school look like?
- What are the best processes to build a shared vision?
CD.SV.02 – Organizational leadership ensures shared vision is created with identified focus areas (eg. Instruction, curriculum, character and transition skills, technology, learner needs, etc. ) that support a highly effective traditional system transitioning into an early college.
- How do we ensure that we are building the best organization for the future?
- Are we researching skills needed to support life-long learning. College/Career Redlines and/or 21st century skills?
- Are we asking local businesses/employers skills they look for when hiring?
Our Pathway/Road Map
I apologize that it seems as if we are going in slow motion but we are currently going slow, to go fast. I am in the process of building a Road Map/ Game Board/ Checklist to help us ensure that we have strong plans in place. It is my goal to have planning documents in place by the time your teams are created. These documents will be the ultimate support tool.
