Heart of the Trojan Giving Campaign: Fife Scholarship Foundation
We are in the final seven weeks of 2020 and what a year it has been. All of us at the FHS Scholarship Foundation are grateful for our donors and volunteers, and for their generous investment in Fife High School and its graduating seniors. The holiday season is just around the corner and we invite you to kick it off with us on Giving Tuesday.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving back. On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (December 1st), you will have a chance to join people around the world and support a cause close to your heart.
This Giving Tuesday and throughout the final weeks of 2020, help us give the gift of higher education to 200 graduating seniors at Fife High School. By joining this movement, you will be expanding access to trade schools, technical schools, colleges, and universities. We know that sometimes all it takes to make a difference is a little support. In this way, you give back and pay forward at the same time!
Gifts of all sizes are important to the Foundation’s ability to provide graduating Trojans the support they need to pursue the next level of education. Our goal for 2020 and the Heart of the Trojan campaign is $20,000. We have seven weeks left to reach that goal. See the attached slides for more information or go to www.fhssf.org to make a donation, establish a scholarship, or find out more about the Foundation.
Athletics Update!
The WIAA made a difficult decision to push the start of Athletics for the State of Washington to February 1st. At this time, the plan for seasons is a 7 week season for Winter, Fall and Spring sports. There are possibilities that the order of sports could still change in January. To read all the details on the decisions and process the WIAA took you can visit the WIAA website here: https://wiaa.com/News.aspx?ID=1743&Mon=11&Yr=2020
We are still working on and hoping for some workouts/training opportunities prior to the start of the seasons on February 1st. This coaching period has been extended to January 23rd and we are waiting for approval to begin. If you have not done so already, please register for ALL the sports you intend to participate in when we get an opportunity. Registration for “Extended Summer” will be used for initial eligibility for our sports seasons. If you are not registered by the start of a sports season, you will be ineligible to start the season. Registration can be found here: https://www.familyid.com/fife-high-school/2020-extended-summer-sept-28-nov-30
ASB card sales will be on hold for athletics until further notice. What you can do is register and make sure you have an updated physical. Remember only PARENT/GUARDIAN emails can be used to register an athlete and if you already have an account from a previous year, please continue to use that same account. If you have any questions email AD Shane Nixon - snixon@fifeschools.com
