Essentialism

develop disciplined minds necessary to expand knowledge base
- curriculum focus on Common Core
- learning focus on knowledge, skills, and literacy
Progressivism
- student-centered classroom
- cooperative and group learning
- take initiative of own learning
My Beliefs
- teaching is improved through trial and error
- have a pragmatic view
- provide a nurturing environment
- need for students to be challenged
- learning should not be limited
- knowledge is based on experience and reason
My Goals
- help each individual student reach his/her own potential
- guide each student to have a love of learning
- become the most effective teacher I can be
