Sipley School Weekly Howl
Week of November 26, 2018
Thanks!
Enjoy the next few days off from work. Find time to reflect on the many things that you are thankful for.
The Warm Demander
I asked what it looks like in students that shows that they are prepared. We responded with being on time, being present, having materials ready, having eyes on the speaker, and SLANT. We committed to making sure that our students are held to those standards.
On Friday, I recapped what it looks like to be prepared and asked, what it looks like in students that shows that they are participating. We responded with engaging in cooperative learning, answering questions via Cold-Call with No-Opt Out, using feedback, using resources available to them. We committed to making sure that our students are fully participatory.
When we return, I will ask what it looks like when students are proficient or on a path toward proficiency.

PLC Focus
I hope to attend as many PLCs as possible. If I am unable to get to a specific grade level's PLC, I would like to hear from grade level teams as to their takeaways, questions, next steps, etc.
