Student Shout Outs

Congratulations to our Class of 2023 Valedictorian, Brooklyn Oliver, and Salutatorian, Jennah Dabrowski!


Congratulations to Brooklyn Oliver for being named a Georgia Scholar by the Georgia Department of Education!


Congratulations to our wrestlers who placed at the state competition: Arie Bacon, Ryan Clayborn, Jordan Epstein, Boston McDermott, Sebastian Melendez, & Phoebe Melvin.


Congratulations to our USA Wrestling Women's State Champions: Jayde Massa - Champion! Phoebe Melvin - Champion! Abbigail Sekajipo - Runner-up!

Jayde Massa was also named a 2x All-American and placed third in the nation, which is the highest honor a woman wrestler has earned in our school's history! Jayde also recently committed to wrestle at Life University! Life University is one of the top two wrestling programs in the nation!


Congratulations to Kish-Amoy Bailey, Columbia County's Young Georgia Author winner! Kish-Amoy's story, "My Darling, Dearest," will now advance to the next level in the 11th grade category.


Congratulations to our Science Olympiad Team for placing first in the GA Southern University Regional Science Olympiad. The team will now compete in the state finals at GA Tech on April 15th.


Congratulations to Skye Boutall, Abbi Brady, Sadie Bryant, Rose Jackson, Mackenzi Park, & Brooke Wechsler for representing our school at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art for the Agnes Markwalter Juried Youth Competition! Abbi Brady placed 2nd overall and Sadie Bryant received an honorable mention!


Congratulations to Jackson Busby, Morgan Dabrowski, & Riley Moore for placing second in the state's SkillsUSA Competition with their High Risk Vehicle Stop!


Congratulations to Phoebe Hughes and Brinkley Vaughn for placing in the top two at the State Leadership Conference, and thereby qualifying to attend the National Leadership Conference!


Congratulations to Jackson Jennings for being named to the AAAAA South 1st Team All-State for basketball!

Summer Opportunities

AU GenCyber Summer Camp

Current 10th and 11th grade students can apply to attend AU's GenCyber summer camp. The residential camp is June 10th-16th at AU and the Georgia Cyber Center. Click here to learn more and apply.


UNG National Intelligence Summer Academy (NISA)

The University of North Georgia will host a National Intelligence Summer Academy July 17-21, 2023. Applications are due by April 15, 2023. Click here to learn more.


GA Tech Distance Computer Science Classes

Beginning in the summer of 2023, Georgia Tech will offer distance computer science classes to students who are in the 11th or 12th grades. The application opened on March 1, 2023. Please click here to learn more.

CVA

The Columbia Virtual Academy, a Columbia County School District program, offers online classes taught by CCSD teachers. Students can take some or all of their 7 high school classes through CVA. Please talk to your school counselor to learn more about CVA. Click here to join the CVA waitlist for the 2023/2024 school year.

GAVS

Registration for the Georgia Virtual School's (GAVS) summer 2023 classes began at noon on March 1st. Summer courses cost approximately $250 per half credit and are paid for by the student.


Registration for fall 2023 and spring 2024 GAVS classes began at noon on March 30th. GAVS classes taken during the school day are approved on a case-by-case basis for courses we do not offer or cannot schedule at Greenbrier High School.


Please talk to your school counselor if you plan to take a GAVS course. Many GAVS classes, such as American Sign Language, fill quickly, so please begin planning now!

Scholarship Spotlight

Students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, you are eligible to win up to $40,000 in scholarship money each month now through February of your graduation year. To enter the scholarship drawing, you simply complete tasks like starting a career list, building a college list, starting a scholarship search, etc. Click here to learn more.


The Columbia County Historical Society is offering a $2,000 scholarship. All applications are due by April 1, 2023. Click here for more information.


The Get Into Energy Scholarship is worth $1,000! All applications are due by April 2, 2023. Click here for more information.


The Ryan Clark Community Service Award is open to students ages 14 to 19. Applications are due by April 7, 2023. Click here to learn more.


The Omega Psi Phi Scholarship is open now. Applications are due by April 14, 2023. Click here for more information.


The Stolkin Temple #22 will award four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2023. Click here to learn more.


The Barack Temple Scholarship is available to students who have a 3.5+ GPA. Applications are due by April 30, 2023. Click here to learn more.


The Mosbey Scholarship and the Bryan Scholarship are available to incoming freshmen at UGA and Georgia Tech. Applications are due by May 10, 2023. Click here to learn more.


The Columbia County Foundation for Children is offering two types of scholarships to Columbia County residents who are under the age of 23. Applications are due by May 12, 2023. Click here to learn more.
