We hope you and your families have had a wonderful summer break! We are getting ready for the new school year and wanted you to be aware of some upcoming events.
Your are receiving this newsletter as your student was enrolled at the Fridley Moore Lake ALC during the 21-22 school year. If you have decided upon enrolling your student for the 22-23 school year, an intake meeting needs to be scheduled. Please contact the ALC secretary to schedule an intake meeting at 763-502-5165.
If you are not enrolling your student for this year, you will not receive any additional newsletters, thank you for your patience.
We are looking forward to a great 22-23 school year!

Message from Nutritional Services
Dear Parents and Guardians,
During the 2022-23 school year, we are not able to provide no-cost meals for all students. The only way that your student may receive free meals is if they qualify for this benefit by completing an Application for Educational Benefits. Families must complete a new application each school year and the 2022-23 application is now available. We encourage all families to complete the application, even if you think you will not qualify. This application helps provide important additional funding for our school district that supports Get Ready Programs, academic deans, reading specialists, and other Fridley support staff. Students who qualify for free or reduced-priced meals are also eligible for reduced price activity fees and schools may qualify for reduce priced field trips. Families may also qualify for reduced-price internet services from Comcast, reduced bus fares, and discounted college application fees.
We encourage all families to complete the online application at Campus Parent Portal . Paper applications are available on the Nutritional Services webpage or by contacting the main office of your student(s) school. If you have questions about completing the application please contact Kathy Backstrom at 763-502-5021 or Renee Arbogast at 763-502-5022.
COVID-19 Health and Safety Information
Due to recent changes in guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), we have updated our practices for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment in Fridley Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.
Important things to know:
Face coverings are not required in district buildings or on school buses. We respect and honor our families’ decisions on masks and will make all of our students feel cared for.
Hand sanitizer stations will continue to be available in our buildings.
If your student is sick, please keep them home from school. Keep up-to-date on common symptoms of COVID-19.
If your student tests positive for COVID-19, please notify your school’s health office.
CDC recommends that if you test positive for COVID-19, you stay home for at least five days. Wear a high-quality mask when you must be around others at home and in public.
If after five days you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication, and your symptoms are improving (or you never had symptoms) you may return to school.
CDC recommends continuing to wear a high-quality mask through day 10.
