Gayman Gazette
One Team! - March 31st Edition
Next Steps
As you have read by now, the Central Bucks School District will start "Distance Learning Phase 2" beginning Monday, April 6th. A Parent Guide to this next phase can be found on the CBSD Website. This week, our teachers have begun preparing for this initiative, while holding conferences. Once again, I am deeply grateful for their work and commitment.
Over the next few weeks, our school calendar will remain the same. There is "no school" April 9th, 10th, and 13th.
As always, I am thankful for our school community. The challenges that we are facing were unexpected, and yet, we rallied - together. Through rainbow pictures and caring emails, your support has been felt.
Thank you!
Kelly Carter

Student Placement for 2020-2021
Even though our school building is closed, we are still working hard to get ready for next year.
Over the next few months, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. In putting together the classes, we will take into consideration many factors: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, emotional needs and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We assess each child's individual needs based upon input from the present classroom teacher, student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing a considerable amount of data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, you are welcome to send an email directly to me at kcarter@cbsd.org by May 1st. Consider describing a classroom environment that would be beneficial to your son/daughter. In addition, share any information regarding academic, social or emotional information that you would like us to consider. You should not name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until June and teaching assignments may change. Please use this opportunity to speak to your child's strengths and needs. Please note: requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. You are not required to send an email; however I welcome your input. Parents will learn of class placement in August. Emails sent after May 1st will not be considered.
Thank you for beginning this important process with us.
