NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 10 | 1 JULY 2022

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parent and caregivers,
As a school we certainly know how to finish off a term!! What a week we have had … NAIDOC Week Whole School Mass and Showcase, Open Classrooms, Pyjama Day for LifeLink, Dance Assembly and Semester Reports!
At the beginning of the year, our school motto of ‘Together we grow’ was my focus and I truly feel that we are definitely living up to this motto. It is great to see additional families join our wonderful school community, students participating in Interschool Sporting opportunities and the classrooms coming alive with lots of learning. The atmosphere around the school is inviting and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all your children, seeing them smile every morning and hearing their laughter during recess and lunch.
Thank you to our fabulous staff for all the great opportunities that they have given our students throughout the term. The staff have gone above and beyond with the challenges that I have set them, and I thank them for their dedication to our school. This culminated in an amazing Open Afternoon that was very well supported by our parents, grandparents and carers.
I would like to inform the school community that Mrs Justine O’Malley has decided to resign from her teaching position as Health Specialist to take on a new adventure lecturing at university. She will, however, continue in her role as Social Worker at St Elizabeth’s, working on a Wednesday and Friday.
Please make sure that you have noted all the important dates for Term 3. This was sent out via Seesaw and can also be found below. Hopefully, none of these events will be cancelled or postponed!
Finally, thank you for a great semester! Thank you for the ongoing support you have shown myself and the staff at St Elizabeth’s. I wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, July 19.
Have a wonderful break!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

Premier's Reading Challenge - Festival of Words Event
As part of this, CEWA will be hosting the Festival of Words Autocue Pop Up at the State Library in the Perth Cultural Centre. This will run daily between 11.00am and 1.00pm.
CEWA are very excited to offer students from all segments of the education sector, including public, Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA) and CEWA schools, an opportunity to experience the Autocue. This is an experimental exercise for all students to practice reading and presentation skills. It is also a preliminary warm up for CEWA students with Rick Ardon in the CEWA Premier’s Autocue Reading Challenge which is being scheduled for a few weeks’ time.
The Department of Education will ticket the event to ensure the two hours are filled with engaged participants. Parents are encouraged to secure a timeslot through the Department of Education Festival of Words online ticketing facility

The Festival of Words will be a fantastic mix of immersive story times, with hands-on activities including the Autocue Challenge hosted by CEWA, Zine workshops, a Bananagram Alley and a TikTok challenge for older students.
Do you want your children to be involved in Science?
