November 2017

3rd Edition

November is the month when we often find ourselves counting our blessings. We cannot begin to express how grateful we are for our RBMS family. Thank you for partnering with us on educating your children!

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."

-Albert Schweitzer

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society is off to a great start this year. On September 28, NJHS elected officers to lead the organization this year.

They are:

President: Emma Hallett

Vice-President: James Guy

Secretary: Sarah Reid

Treasurer: Anika Trehan

Historian: Emma Cavanaugh.

At our October 26th meeting, the students created cards, and will be visiting New Hope Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation on November 11th to participate in craft time. They will be delivering cards to the residents during this time.

Members of NJHS are always looking for ways to serve the community and our school. Please contact Lindsay Jones ( or Lauren Casias ( if you have any volunteer opportunities with which our members can help you.

Cougars Reading with Wranglers

Every Tuesday boys athletics, and every Thursdays girls athletics, goes to Knowles Elementary to read to the Kinder and 1st graders. Coach West and Coach Bell started the program this year, and it has been a great experience for all those involved. The Elementary and Middle School students have loved reading time.

Cross Country

Congratulations to the 2017 Boys and Girls Cross Country. They had a successful year. All of the athletes ended the season with some remarkable times that were 2-8 minutes faster than the start of the season. At District they were strong competitors and took home a total of 9 top 20 finishes. This includes 1st place finish by Jace Poole (8th grade boys), 2nd place Reagan Pruitt (7th grade girls), 6th place Brayden Cano (8th grade boys), 7th place Andrew Buentello (8th grade boys), 9th place Laramie Powell (8th grade girls). Please congratulate all these athletes on a great representation of our school.

Our Band has had a busy fall preparing for the LISD annual Festival of Bands as well as their fall concert. What a great representation of the talent on this campus!
