Greetings Valley students and families,
Tonight is one of the biggest rivalries in Iowa High School football-Valley vs. Dowling Catholic! Gates open at 5:30 PM and we will sit on our usual home bleachers. Students will enter through the West gates as this is Dowling's home football game.
Let's also make sure we are demonstrating stalwart sportsmanship and showing respect to the officials as well our opponents.
As we near the end of the first quarter, please communicate with teachers if there are any misunderstandings or confusion regarding classwork. Our focus is student success and we want to encourage everyone involved in our students' educations to effectively communicate and put our kids in the best possible positions for success.

ACADEMICS
Monday, October 17th is an ODD Block day.
To celebrate the first of the 4 A's (Academics), Academic Awards are tonight, Monday, October 17th, at 7:00 PM. Students who earn a 3.4 GPA both semesters in the same calendar year in at least 5.5 classes are eligble for the award.
Students should not let friends in doors during the school day. All students will enter through the North Main Doors between 8:20 AM-3:20 PM.

Students from all three Valley Music Departments will be auditioning for the IHSMA All State Band, Chorus, and Orchestra on Saturday, October 22nd at Indianola High School. Please join us in wishing them all good luck!
State Marching Contest is at Waukee HS Stadium tomorrow, October 15th. Valley Marchmasters perform at 2:25 PM and are seeking their record 61st consecutive division I rating!
