Courtship Dances
Courtship Dances
Courtship dances are a form of communication so members of the same species can recognize each. They are ritual like patterns that help ensure survival of the species. Courtship behaviors include special calls, postures, and movements.
Birds of Paradise
The male exhibits his colorful and vibrant physical traits while the female examines to see if he is a good enough mate.
Sunset Dances
The male and female display a mutual courtship to often reaffirm and reinforce the bond between them.
Bold & Beautiful
The display of a peacock's tail is one of the most dazzling displays of courtship dances.
Territory
Territorial animals defend animals that contain a nest, den or mating site. They defend their territory to get food for their families. Defense rarely creates a fight. There is a display by the animals somehow. It can be visual, vocal like birds signing, olfactory through scent markers such as urination. An example of this is fighting fish. They will defend their area to the death!
