CHRISTMAS CARDS
Each year, the opportunity is given to our art students to submit a handmade Christmas card to be considered as representing Madison High School. We have four categories for our entries: one goes to the Elementary Schools in our Cluster, one goes to the Middle schools in our Cluster, one goes to all the High Schools in the District, and one goes to our Board of Directors, Associate Superintendents, and Central Office representatives. We are VERY pleased to announce the winners for this year. For the Cluster Elementary Schools, the winner is Ava Escalante. For the Cluster Middle Schools, the winner is Gabriela Morales. For the High Schools, the winner is Ariel Ruiz. For the Board of Directors and Central Office, the winner is Sonja Ruiz. Congratulations to these students and to all those who submitted entries. It was a pleasure having so many good entries to consider! See pictures below.
THEATER 2ND ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST
PRACTICE FOR STAAR EOC (END OF COURSE) EXAMS
If you would like to have your student practice for STAAR EOCs, please visit the link below to review and practice with released STAAR tests. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the types of questions asked, the content your student needs to focus on, and improve stamina and pacing during testing. You will find:

FAMILY MATTERS VIDEO-DISCUSSION SERIES
On behalf of the NEISD Family Engagement Program, we invite you to attend the Family Matters video-discussion series. Sessions feature interviews with leading experts sharing the heart and science of social-emotional development & family relationships. Participants will gain practical tools to address child/adolescent behaviors with understanding, connection and communication.

SENIOR FEES
Hello Senior Parents!!
Senior fees are $65 and are due by December 15th. Senior fees can be paid by cash or check (made out to Madison High School) in room L103 or the Library. They can be paid by credit card by going to the Madison website, then Parents and Guardians, then School Cash Online. Payments made by card will be charged a $4.00 fee.
The Senior Fees include 2 shirts, 2 field trips (with lunch provided), and a senior gift.
Also, Senior Yard Signs are now available. See the attached order form for information. Yard signs are $10.00 each.

FAFSA OPENING
Attention Senior parents! The 2024 -2025 FAFSA will open by December 31, 2023. Make sure you are as prepared as possible to get your student financial aid, please see the flyer for more details. As a reminder completion of the FAFSA, TASFA, or opt out form is a mandatory graduation requirement for all seniors.
SENIOR FAFSA INFORMATION
Dear Senior and Parent,
Completion of your FAFSA is a graduation requirement and you will need to take one of the following steps to be cleared for graduation:
- Complete the FAFSA or TAFSA (FAFSA is meant for students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, while the TASFA is for non-citizens and certain international students who are classified as Texas residents.)- To get started with your FAFSA application, click on this link at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa and see FAFSA® Application Deadlines | Federal Student Aid
- You can schedule an appointment with Café College https://cafecollege.org/, if you need help with your FAFSA or TAFSA
- Alamo Community Colleges has events scheduled to assist with FAFSA and TAFSA (please see attached flyer)
- If you are not applying for scholarships or financial aid, you will need to fill out an opt-out form instead of the FAFSA, per graduation requirement. Please print and fill out an opt-out form and turn in to your school counselor no later than May 17, 2024.

THEATER PRODUCTION

The system will ask which student you are supporting or coming to see. Please use their first and last name so that they get credited properly, or use “director” if you are not supporting someone specific.
CCMR LINKTREE (COLLEGE, CAREER, AND MILITARY READINESS)
CONNECTED CLASSROOM
Connected Classroom has arrived! If your student has completed both the lending agreement (online through Skyward or paper in the AP Center) AND paid the $25 dollar insurance (scholarships are available for students who qualify for free and reduced lunches), the AP Center started issuing chrome books (during school) on September 5th, Tuesday. Remember the expectations that were agreed upon: student brings device to school everyday fully charged or with a charger, student is responsible for any content on the device and is subject to disciplinary action if it is inappropriate, and student should keep the device in good working order. Students will lose custody of the device if they do not maintain those expectations in good faith. If your student does not get a device this week, please go to Skyward and make sure you have completed both parts of the check out procedure (lending agreement and insurance).
