Good Afternoon PCMS Families!

Today signals the end of a very successful and exciting Homecoming Week for us! We had an amazing Pirate Time Homecoming Challenge in which the Pirate Time classes who had the most students and teachers participate (dress-up) in our Spirit Day win donuts for their class! We finished up the week today with lots of ORANGE and BLACK...love that PIRATE PRIDE! And a reminder for tonight’s home Pirate football game that middle school students will only be allowed to enter the game if they are accompanied by an adult - thank you for your help with this!

We hope everyone stays safe and enjoys the Homecoming Parade and Game tonight. GO PIRATES!!

SCHOOL TIPS & REMINDERS: Attendance at Home PCHS Football Games

Middle School students will not be allowed to enter Pirate Stadium for high school football games unless they are accompanied by an adult. Due to our construction, there is not a middle school section for them to sit as a group and therefore, they need to be seated with a parent. They can sit with friends, but it needs to also be with a parent. We want our students to be there, be loud, be proud and cheer on their Pirates, but in a way that respects all in attendance.

We had fun dressing up this week for Homecoming 2021 - we were OUTTA THIS WORLD!

This week we're adding a new twist to our CharacterStrong program - the FAMILY DARE! With the weather being warm and leaves changing colors, it's a perfect weekend to Take a Hike!

PCR-3 Community Advisory: Apply by October 29

Platte County School District recognizes the importance of community input to help set the future direction of our schools.

We are launching the PCR-3 Community Advisory to gather volunteers who will have an ongoing role to review the District’s progress toward its Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan (CSIP) goals, as well as to provide input regarding the District's general operation and specific issues impacting education activities and programs.

This group will review, discuss, monitor, and advise on a variety of topics including the academic calendar, long-range facility plan, fraud and audit, safety and security, attendance area boundaries, facility naming, technology, equity and inclusion, character education, health and wellness, and additional topics requested by the Board of Education. The group will meet quarterly, or more regularly as needed, to complete specific tasks.

Any District resident, employee, or student may participate in the ongoing work of this group. PCR-3 hopes to have a full membership of 75 or more members. A PCR-3 Community Advisory Steering Committee will be composed of 8-10 District residents who represent a broad cross-section of PCR-3 parents and citizens with at least two representatives from each of PCR-3’s attendance areas. Steering Committee members will additionally meet in advance of full membership meetings.

If interested in serving on this advisory as a General Member or Steering Committee Member, please complete the application linked below by October 29.
