Spotlight on Student Voice
This week, we had our first Vergennes Full Send meeting! Students and adults came together to develop the mission statement of the group:
“Vergennes Full Send at VUMHS is a student-led group that is going to promote student voice and change. We are going to accomplish this through youth- adult partnerships, communication and leadership. We are the next level of student voice, leadership and change. Send it!”
‘Sending it’ is a phrase to express doing an action with confidence, in this case, stepping into student leadership with confidence.
Student Assessment Update
This week we wrapped up the MAP growth assessments in math and literacy. This data helps us refine our instruction, and specifically target skills and strategies to help support all students in reaching proficiencies.
Callback Reminder:
We offer Callback every day as an opportunity for students and teachers to work together to reinforce learning. Callback provides students with the extra help necessary for them to be successful. Students should have a clear understanding of when they need additional support from a teacher and call themselves back using the adaptive scheduler through PowerSchool. Teachers also use this scheduler to call students back. Students are required to attend callback every day.
