Parking Lot - Mornings - Limited Access
Starting on January 16th, which is the start of our new semester, we will be limiting access to the front parking lot from 7:20 - 7:40 to staff members only.
During that time all parents will need to use the back driveway to drop their students off as only staff will be allowed to enter and park. We have monitored the safety of our lot for almost two years and have met with city engineers, our Campus Excellence Committee, and our student voice committee seeking creative solutions and our safest route in the morning is for parents to drop their students in back driveway each day.
If you have medicine to bring or need to visit the front office, please arrive before 7:20. If you have questions or concerns, please call or stop by the front office during the school day. I would be happy to discuss the safety of your children and the procedural changes with you.

Birthday Celebration Guideline
A child's birthday is a magical time to be celebrated. In GCISD we want to celebrate students on their special day. Traditionally, our society celebrates with food. Many websites are devoted to the idea of food and it's relation to love. The goal of Health Services is the health and safety of all GCISD students while at school. Due to an increase of students with diabetes, and students with the potential for anaphylactic reaction, we want to encourage and recommend that birthday treats be non-food items.
Please check with your campus if food items are accepted as birthday treats.
If your students' campus allows, and you choose to bring food related items the following guidelines
must be followed:
1. No homemade items will be accepted (many allergic reactions are a result of cross-contamination).
2. Birthday Treats must be wrapped, store bought items, and accompanied by a nutritional label. (This will allow campus staff to determine if the snack is appropriate for the other students in the class.)
3. Treats will be distributed at the end of the day.
Recommended list of food items:
1. 100 calorie snack packs
2. Rice Krispie Treats
3. Teddy Grahams
4. Potato Chips, pretzels, Goldfish
Other non-food recommendations for celebrating your child's birthday:
Stickers, pencils, notepads or other fun school supplies.
Gel pens.
Bubbles.
Donate a game for rainy day recess.
REMINDER TO OUR VISITORS - PHOTO ID REQUIRED
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is making some changes to the School Messenger automated calling system. Currently, when GCISD sends a phone message, it uses the main district line. Moving forward, calls will come from the following number: 866-264-0350. By using this toll free number, call recipients will be able to place a call back to this number to hear any missed calls, which is an added benefit to all families. Please save this number in your contacts as a reminder that these calls are coming from GCISD.
