COVID Q&A
Question: If I test positive what should I do?
Answer: All individuals who test positive must isolate for 5 days.
1) Asymptomatic (no symptoms), or if symptoms are improving and the individual has been fever-free, without medication, for 24 hours by day 5, then the person is released from isolation after day 5.
2) It is recommended that you wear a well-fitting mask while around others until day ten after positive test results.
Question: I have been identified as a close (household) contact. What should I do now?
Answer: VACCINATED
Students or staff members who are identified as a household close contact may continue to be in school. Students who are fully vaccinated can upload their vaccine cards into PowerSchool.
Vaccinated individuals who are eligible but have yet to receive a booster are encouraged to wear a well-fitting mask while around others for 10 days and to receive their booster. The CDC, Fargo Cass Public Health and the ND Department of Health consider individuals up to date with their vaccination immediately after receiving their booster.
UNVACCINATED
Un-vaccinated household close contacts are strongly recommended to quarantine from school for ten days from the onset of their positive household member’s symptoms or from the day their asymptomatic household member tested positive. After those ten days, it is recommended the unvaccinated household contact participate in an-every other day testing program. If they chose not to participate in the testing program, they are strongly recommended to remain home for an additional five days.
Question: Will I still be able to be tested (or is it still available) at a Fargo Public Schools site?
Answer: Yes, testing is still available for FPS staff and students at North and South High. As of January 17th, 2022, testing is no longer required by FPS staff or students to be at school. Please review guidance on the FPS website for when it is recommended.
Question: If a student or staff member is showing symptoms at school, can the school require they get tested for COVID?
Answer: No, if the person is ill, they need to go home and return when symptoms are improving and the individual has been fever-free, without medication, for 24 hours.
If testing at Fargo Cass Public Health or at a Fargo Public Schools testing site, please register ahead of time at https://testreg.nd.gov/. If you are not registered, you will be asked to leave the testing site until you have registered. If you are positive on a home test, you do not need to seek out additional testing. Please do not risk infecting others at testing sites, clinics, or our dedicated testing staff. Testing sites for FPS staff and students will test individuals every other day that wish to be tested as the guidance has changed from testing daily.
Question: What are the testing site hours?
Answer: TESTING SITE HOURS
