Band Buzz November 14, 2021
Falcon Band and Color Guard
On behalf of the Clear Lake Falcon Band, we would like to take a moment to recognize and thank one of our outstanding band parents, Mr. Larry Kamrud. Mr. Kamrud has been driving the tractor trailer for every game and competition, and we have nothing but appreciation for his help this marching season. Mr. Kamrud, thank you for your incredible support and service to the Clear Lake Falcon Band!

From Your Directors
Region Orchestra auditions are on Monday November 15, and Freshmen Region auditions will be on Tuesday, November 16. Both of these auditions will be held at Clear Creek HS and start at 3:30. We will provide bus transportation to both of these events, but students may turn in alternate travel forms if they desire to be dropped off and/or picked up by parents.
Students interested in auditioning for HS Region Band need to complete the online form located on QR code posted in the band hall (most students did this during class Friday). They will need to bring $20 (check payable to CLHS Band) on Monday, and have a TMEA Covid form on file (passed out on Friday) to complete the entry process. HS Region Band Auditions will be December 3, 4, and 6 at Clear Creek HS.
A Special Thanks
This is an email sent to Mr. Pearce from the Dickinson Superintendent.
The past few days have been extremely difficult for the DHS band students and staff, and I want to extend my thanks to you, your band staff, students, and parents for the kindness and support given to them last Friday. The purple armbands sewn by your parents and worn by the students were very touching. My special thanks to the moms who worked so hard to prepare them. The many kind words and the of support to our students and staff by the CLHS band are greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. The loss of this talented young lady and leader in our band program is devastating, and I am extremely grateful to you, your students, and parents for providing comfort to DHS as so many grieve.
With heartfelt thanks,
Carla Voelkel

Concert Uniform Fittings
Concert Uniforms
We will issue the girls their long, black dresses after school on Thursday, November 18, from 2:45-4:45 (all grade levels). We will need 3 volunteers that day, so if you can help please send me an email or text. To complete their concert uniform, the girls will need a pair of back flats or dress shoes with heels no higher than 2”.
The boys were issued their black tuxedo jackets and pants last week - a big Thank You goes out to Tonya Moore, Sam Draper and Ruth Soisson for their help! If your student did not receive a uniform last week, have them see the directors during band class. To complete their concert uniform, each boy will need to provide his own white dress shirt or tuxedo shirt, black bow-tie and cummerbund, and black dress shoes and socks. Please note we do have some new white tuxedo shirts that were not used in previous years that the boys may use if they so choose and if we have their size.
Note on alterations: We will not have a tailor come in to do any hemming of the boys pants this year. If your student needs his pants hem adjusted, you may take them to a tailor at your own expense to have them done, we just ask that the pants material not be cut when hemming.
Concert Season gets underway in early December - the Full Orchestra Winter Concert is December 8 and the Band Winter Concert is December 9 - and everyone will need to have their full concert uniform completed by then.
Note for Percussion Ensemble Members: Those participating in the Percussion Ensemble concert in March will need black dress shirts. Although that is still a ways off, it might be easier to find a black dress shirt now during the holiday season than next spring.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
