Author Visit

We had a visit from the children’s author, Eamonn Reilly, this week. He read some extracts of his brilliant books and left us some writing challenges that we will be working on with our teachers in the coming weeks! One of his books, The British Spy School is being made into a film so keep a look out for that! It sounds brilliant!!

Thank you to everyone who bought his books, we received 8 free books for school - amazing!

Bike Rack

It has been lovely to see our new bike rack being used this week. Children can now cycle or scoot to school and leave them safely in the racks.

Planning Summary

If you would like to know what your child will be learning this term, the planning summary can be found in the curriculum section of our website. This outlines the different areas of learning in each subject, as well as describing the full curriculum so that you can see how this fits into the expected content across all yeargroups.

Parent Volunteers

We hope to be able to welcome volunteers into school very soon. However, any previous DBS check will have now expired and will need to be renewed. If you would like to volunteer to help in school on a regular basis in future, please contact the office so that we can begin the process in applying for a new DBS. You will need to bring in some ID, a current passport, driving licence and utility bill issued within the last 3 months. We will also need 2 character references so please also provide the names and email addresses of 2 people who could provide this for you. Thank you for your continued support.

Eco Warriers

Our Eco Warriors would like to share a water saving tip with you: Think about fitting a water butt to collect rainwater off your roof. Water butts usually store about 200 litres of water. As well as being better for watering your plants, using rainwater in the garden reduces the amount of treated water you use.

School Lunches

Please see the new Spring 2022 Lunch menu below. Next week we will be on Week 1 of lunches.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
