Rule 1: Digital Etiquette
Be sure to THINK before you post or write something. Is it True? is it Helpful? is it Inspirational? is it Necessary? is it Kind? Make sure rereard your messages and make sure someone won't think it is offensive.
Rule 2: Information Privacy
Keep your information private. Don't give information to anyone that wants it on the internet. It could be a scam and they could do a lot of things that you probably will not like.
Rule 3: Social Networking
Don't talk to strangers. Keep a network of friends and don't just let a stranger chat with you unless you know them.
Rule 4: Online Safety
Don't put personal things on a website. It is okay to go on the internet but don't share personal information on a website unless you know what it is about. Don't put anything online line that shows your name, age, and things you like.
Rule 5: Cyberbullying
Don't be a cyberbully. Some people will try to bully you on the the internet. Instead of being mean to them back tell an adult or report the user to the website or game.
Rule 6: Plagiarism
Don't copy other people's work. You can not use a person's words or ideas. You also can not copy and paste someone's work.
Rule 7: Copyright
Some things are protected by law. Copyright is something that protects pictures, videos, etc. You should ask the persom that took the picture before using it if it is copyrighted.
Why is Digital Citizenship important & what is it?
Digital Citizenship is guidelines that keep people safe in the internet. Digital Citizenship is important because if we didn't do it a lot of bad things would be happening online. There might be a lot more cyberbullying and identity theft. There would also be a lot of copied work. It is important we follow it because the internet will be a lot safer.
