FOURTH GRADE NEWS
April 26th, 2018
Welcome to Fourth Grade
- To celebrate multicultural night, the fourth graders will be creating dolls that represent different states/ provinces in North America. Your child will be bringing home a multicultural figure handout to help with the project. The multicultural figure should represent your child dressed in traditional clothes worn in one of the countries of our assigned continent. This project can be done as a family and is due to school by Friday, April 27th.
- On May 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm there will be a Book Fair Family Night and Multicultural Program (going from 6-7 pm)! The Book Fair will be open from April 30th (teacher preview) to May 4th.
- The book fair will be open during students lunch time. You will be able to come eat lunch with your student and go to the book fair with them.
- On Saturday, May 12th students will participate in a Color Run from 2- 3:30 pm. you can learn more information in the attached documents! Please remember to have students wear either sunglasses or goggles.
- On May 21st our counselor, Nia Carranza, will be having a seminar about Middle School and how to help smoothly transition your older elementary student! This event will take place at Skaggs Library from 10 to 11 am.

- explain how plants and animals depend upon interactions with each other and their environment to survive.
- describe the flow of energy through food webs and how changes in the ecosystem can affect the food web.

- distinguish between some likenesses between parent and offspring as inherited and learned traits.

- Parents, please remember to send your children to school with everything they will need to stay warm at recess.
- We would like to encourage your child to bring their electronic device. Electronic devices are being used in music, art, and guidance as well as the content area classes.
- SPARKLE Store will open tomorrow morning! Sparkles are an incentive that we give to our students throughout the day. These sparkles may be used on Fridays to buy privileges in the Sparkle Store. The Sparkle Store is open from 7:30-7:45 a.m. You will find a link below for what your students may buy with their sparkles.
