Callahan Elementary School students received a banana trophy for getting the most AR points for the week.

Musical Pirates
Mr. Johnson at Emma Love Hardee was teaching his fourth-graders about beat, rhythm, and tempo through engaging hands-on learning! The students enjoyed following the music and the tempo by moving the parachute and scarves throughout the song.

Hispanic Heritage Month
Students in Mrs. Janzen's 8th-grade civics class at Fernandina Beach Middle School participated in one of three essay contests: Hispanic Heritage Month, Patriot's Pen, and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Edible Arrays
Ms. Moreno and her Little Pirates at Emma Love Hardee worked hard on creating arrays to work on their distributive property.

Delicious Decimals
Students in Mrs. Vroman's fifth-grade class at Hilliard Elementary participated in Decimal Diner Day. They were able to show off their skills by answering diner-related word problems with the addition and subtraction of decimal numbers. They also ordered and rounded decimals with cookies. The students had a great time and are ready for their tests!

Mighty Marching Pirates
The Fernandina Beach High School's Mighty Marching Pirates performed in their first marching competition since 2019 at Fleming Island High School. The Pirates finished third in their new 3A category. The band also received superiors in the Visual and Drum Major Categories.

Catching the Responsibility Bug
In Mrs. White's guidance class at Bryceville Elementary, the Character Trait was Responsibility. Students played a game where they walked around the room to see if the responsibility scoot cards demonstrated responsible behavior.

Visiting the Apple Orchard
The kindergarten classes at Callahan Elementary School ventured on a pretend field trip to the apple orchard. They read books about apples, tasted and graphed their favorite apples, completed apple crafts, and sampled many apple foods. All had a fun time learning!

Promethean Partners
Mrs. Trujillo's class at Callahan Intermediate School practiced their partner talk using a digital math center using Blooket to practice equal groups and repeated addition.

Ms. Albert and her 5th graders at Emma Love Hardee Elementary have been working on multiplying decimals and finding place value patterns. Students used T-Charts to help identify the different patterns.
