November Newsletter

Hello SLHS Families,

It is hard to believe that we are entering November! November means the end of the first quarter and the middle of the college application season. Homecoming was a huge success packed full of activities and school spirit. I want to thank all of our students, clubs, groups and staff for pitching in to make this a great week. I’d like to congratulate the Class of 2019 who defeated the Class of 2020 in the championship game of this year’s Pumpkin Bowl. Thanks to all the students and many staff members for all their time and efforts on another successful Pumpkin Bowl!

Extracurricular Activities

Most of the fall athletic teams have finished their season and the winter sports season is starting on Monday. I would like to wish the Varsity Volleyball team and the Cross County teams good luck in their playoffs. I would like to give a huge shout out to the PE Department and the all the students who brought food in last week for the local food pantry. The Cooking Club made applesauce & pumpkin scones, men’s and women’s ensembles are selected, the Key Club hosted Big Buddies, the Class of 2021 hosted a Spooky Spike Volleyball Tournament and many students attended the Writing Retreat at Paul Smith’s College. The fall play “Love's Labour's Lost” was the past weekend and the After Prom Party had their Pasta Dinner. The Green Storm is sending members to the Youth Climate Summit in Tupper Lake on November 7th & 8th, no school on November 12th for Veteran’s Day, NHS induction ceremony is on November 13th and the Area All-State Festival will take place in Ticonderoga on November 16th & 17th. As you can tell, the school year is well underway and we are all making the most of it!
