Google Slides-Turkey Activities
Shout out to Becky Chatham for finding these fun resources to share! The Control Alt Achieve blogger Eric Curts provided templates for the following writing tasks. This would be great to push to students through itslearning or Google Classroom. In itslearning, you only need to copy my links below. Students will be prompted to create their own copy that would be added to their Google Drive.
- Disguise a Turkey (created by Kelley Costa) is a writing activity challenging students to disguise their turkey to keep him safe before Thanksgiving.
- Build a Turkey (created by Eric Curts) is a google slides template allowing students to create their own turkey and then write about it. The topic could be a narrative, informational, or persuasive piece.
Headphone Organization
I was in Donna Calhoun's 1st grade class this week and saw this awesome organization trick for student headphones! I had Donna be my Vanna White and demo this in action. I know this is a constant struggle in many classrooms. Maybe this organization hack will work for you!

Chromebook Keyboard Shortcuts
The countdown to Thanksgiving break is on! Students have now mastered all the chromebook keyboard shortcuts needed to drive you crazy! These are some of the common issues I've seen lately:
- Chromebook screen is funky colors: This is a high contrast setting under the Accessibility settings. Easy fix: tap the following keys Shift+Search+h
- Screen is super zoomed in: This is either a resolution setting which can be fixed by tapping Ctrl,Shift, + OR it's a screen magnifier setting under Accessibility settings. To fix, click anywhere in bottom, right corner of screen. Under Accessibility, uncheck Screen Magnifier.
