Stephan King
On Writing
Author's purpose
Stephan king wants to relay what he knows from his early childhood on how he became the writer he is today and what he has learned through his many years as a writer, that he has kept with him going into his many novels.
“you can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will.”
Greatest impression
Chapter 12 made the greatest impression on me because its when Stephan king met Forrest J. Acherman and he changed kings views on writing and thousands of other kids future.
Rating of book
I rate this book a 3 because, the intro of the book got me interested in readying and for his first short story in On Writing caught my attention and kept me entertained and in to the book but when it hit his 2nd short story in the book dis-interested me in reading any farther in to the book.
passage #1
“Writing isn't about making money, getting famous, getting dates, getting laid, or making friends. In the end, it's about enriching the lives of those who will read your work, and enriching your own life, as well. It's about getting up, getting well, and getting over. Getting happy, okay? Getting happy.”
I choose this passage because its a positive message to his fellow readers and to the people who read for inspiration to keep on moving forward.
passage #2
“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”
I choose this passage also because Stephan King is right, hes right in the sense that people are amateurs if they wait for something to happen. people that want some thing done need to go and do it them selves.

The issue this book address's is drug addiction to a writer and i am tying that to drug addictions in our society today. Stephan king had his alcohol and drug addictions in his later years of his life, he had to go threw the struggles of supporting a family and keep up with his work. He did his best work when he was on drugs i don't know why but it worked for him, and even now that our society today is abusing drugs and alcohol it has proved to not only kill but help people in there day to day life. If it were to living in the projects to making a living on the streets it has helped in many ways for people and for some its all they know today.
