A couple reminders that we have as district/site procedures/expectations to make your time here welcoming and fun but to keep our children and staff safe as well:
- When entering the building, we need you to check into the office.
- We have a computer system that requires you to show your driver's license. If you do not have a license, DO NOT WORRY, we can input information manually.
- All visitors will need a pass.
- If you are looking to volunteer/visit/support your child in the classroom, you are welcomed to come. We do need you to reach out to your child(ren)'s teacher PRIOR to coming in so we are prepared and ready for your visit.
Here is a link you will need to complete to volunteer in the classroom or help with field trips: https://tsscapps.rochester.k12.mn.us/VIE/
Please let us know how we can work together with you during your time here at Elton Hills.
Hyvee
This past year we made $300 the school gets to use from last year's receipts to support our students. Wowza!!!
Referendum
Rochester Public Schools is holding a special election on November 5 asking voters to approve a bond referendum that would address the District’s capacity issues, provide safe and secure entrances at all schools, upgrade alarm systems to meet the American with Disabilities Act, improve high school auditoriums and with a second question, support swimming pool spaces.
Get out and vote early September 20 through November 4th at Edison Administration Building (615 7th Street SW).
Monday through Friday 8 AM – 4:45 PM
Saturday, November 2nd 10 AM – 3 PM
Our Students' Safety is #1
Minnesota State Statutes and Rochester Public School District policies guide our crisis preparedness and response. Each site develops a crisis plan each year. We will have fire drills, lock down and active threat safety drills, as well as a severe weather drill throughout the year.
When staff talk with students about the safety drills, we talk about how the emergencies almost never happen in school, but, just in case, we practice what to do if there is an emergency. We remind students that this keeps us safe!
We will have safety drills and practice for emergencies over the next few weeks and throughout the school year. We wanted to inform you of the conversations that we have at school in case children are talking about these drills at home. Please let us know if you or your children have questions or concerns about these safety drills.
PTSA
Membership
The PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) is a parent, teacher, and student organization that supports our students and teachers. Please consider joining the PTSA to tie the home and school connection. The PTSA has a wonderful board of parents who have committed their time to our students and staff. The PTSA needs memberships in order to continue existing. Your commitment would be minimal with you deciding how much time you want to dedicate. There are many ways to participate such as donations, sign-up genius for activities, supplies, or food for staff, committees, and events.
