Lunar New Year Contest Sponsored by Science Team - submit by 8pm tonight!
Every spring, the Science Team sponsors a school-wide contest on one of the spring holidays. This year, the Lunar New Year falls on February 10th and Science Team is hosting a contest on the theme of the Science of the Lunar New Year.
Ms. Kennen and Science Team will be awarding themed goodie bags to participants who are drawn from the highest scoring entries on Friday.

Celebrating Distinction at RMSST
Senior Terron McRae wins City of Conyers Celebration of Community Essay Contest
Congratulations to RMSST Senior Terron McRae for being one to the top three finalists in the Celebration of Community Essay Contest! Terron will be recognized at the February 21st Conyers City Council meeting.
Math Team wins 1st Place!
The Math Team participated in the annual Math and Puzzle Program (MaPP) Challenge at Middle Georgia State University In Macon today. The team of Trenton Fulgham, Prakash Gupta, Alexis Martinez, Camila Moreno, Ian Morgan, Delano Page, Matilda Rodgers, and Kathryn Stoltz won the challenge! This is the first time our team has won the MaPP Challenge - and they were also the only team to complete the entire challenge!
The team of Xander Atkinson, Milene Babkina, Christopher Broaddus, Ethan Collinsworth, Harley Gipson, Lucas Rodgers, Joel Samuels, and Sophia Zakirova placed third!

Science Team earns spot at State Science Bowl Tournament!
Science Team had a great Science Bowl tournament last Saturday at Georgia Tech, finishing in 3rd and advancing to the State Tournament.

Support the Magnet Fund and win $10K to bring your idea to life! All students who submit win free RMSST swag!
I wanted to share a fantastic opportunity – STEMUp 2024. It's a chance for students to showcase their creativity by submitting inventive ideas to address community issues. They could win up to $10,000 to bring their ideas to life! Youth applications close on February 23, 2024.
Please indicate that you found out about the competition or are supporting Magnet Fund on your application and our school will receive a financial donation as well when 10 or more students apply! All Magnet students who show Mrs. Baskett or Mr. Robinson a completed application will receive a FREE professional portfolio and RMSST logo magnet.

Free Tutoring! Access Tutor.com via ClassLink for On-Demand Help at Home!
Reminder: Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) and Tutor.com, one of the world’s largest online tutoring services, have partnered to provide live, online tutoring services for RCPS students. Through this partnership, quarantined RCPS students in grades 6-12 can access live tutors on-demand, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from Tutor.com for 1-to-1 learning support. RCPS students in grades K-12 can access the same expert tutors afterschool.
The service provides homework help across more than 120 subjects, along with drop-off essay review and test prep.
Students can access Tutor.com through the ClassLink landing page in any internet browser on their school-issued laptop or device, which will automatically sign in the student to their account. Or they can visit https://launchpad.classlink.com/rockdale.

Magnet Families- Please use the school year's calendar as you plan. It is key that students are at school every day that they are well. Research shows that attendance in class is a key predictor for success.
