Our Weekly Update
From Fourth Grade
Week of February 5th
Its February!! We have made it through over 100 days of school and are happy to be getting back on track. As you know, the flu epidemic is affecting tons of people, as well as the stomach bug, cold, etc. We ask that you please make sure you do not send your child to school until they have been fever/symptom-free for 24 hours. This helps teachers and other students stay healthy through this flu season.
Ms. Lundy, our School Counselor, will present the Think First & Stay Safe™ program to our students in February. Think First & Stay Safe™ is a research-based program that teaches specific personal safety education lessons to students. An OPT-OUT form has been sent home with your child. Please only complete and return this form if you do NOT want your child to participate in the Think First & Stay Safe™ program.
Career Day was a huge success. Thank you to all volunteers who came out to show our kids about the different careers that may be in their future!
Valentine's Day is coming up!! We will spend the morning of the 14th exchanging Valentines in HOMEROOM class only. We will be sending home a homeroom class roster as the date approaches. We will not be decorating bags or boxes. If you plan to send in Valentines, please make sure you get one for each student. We do not want any children left out.
The fourth grade team asks that if you have a concern or question about academics, your child, another student, etc., please contact your child's teacher first. If we cannot help solve the conflict, we will be sure to reach out to the correct administrator that can help.
What we are learning:

In math we are working in small group rotations. This gives students the chance to get out of their seats and learn in many different ways, including small group with teacher, games, technology, and more!
Students should be working on Red Bird at home to practice math skills. This app can be accessed through Launch Pad, or use this direct link: https://fcs.redbirdschools.com/
