TECH TIP OF THE WEEK
Google Drive has enabled Google Add Ons and there are some that you and your students will want to enable right away:
Words of Wisdom
Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.
~ Laurence Stern
Want to build a quick, easy connection with someone? It's seems overly simple, but remembering a name can do just that. Whether a new acquaintance or a student, remembering and identifying others by their name speaks volumes about you. It means you cared enough to personalize them. Here at school, it means that a particular student isn't just the kid sitting in the back of the room with the blue t-shirt. It indicates to the student that he or she matters to you, which in turn makes them more likely to try their best for you. It's a self-perpetuating cycle of respect, all because you remembered a name.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.
Take a little time to absorb someone's name when you are introduced and use it in conversation. Notice how they react to you. It's a quick way to gain respect.
Happy Birthday!
