Cause
When part of the gene repeats more than usual on the x chromosome. Its a mutation, and is not dominant or recessive.
How Its Treated
There is no single treatment, but there are treatments that help minimize symptoms.
Facts
- 1 in 4,000 males get Fragile X Syndrome and 1 in 8,000 females
- development delays (not sitting, walking, or talking at the same time as others)
- it is diagnosed by a persons DNA in their blood
