Happy National Police Week, Officer James!
Warrior Project- Incentives
One of the plans for SMS next fall will be the introduction of incentives for students who demonstrate these essential attributes. If we assign points for attending every day, having every assignment turned in, helping others, etc. what would we be able to offer students for those points? Are there items that students would enjoy? Experiences? Privileges?
During HR today and tomorrow, share your thoughts on low cost items, no cost privileges, and local and regional trips that we might be able to offer in a Warrior Store! Eighth graders- we want your input, too. SHS already has a Warrior Store and we'll pass your ideas on to the SHS administration so they know what you might like to see at SHS.
Mr. Smith will meet with HR reps Wednesday to gather the ideas that are generated today and tomorrow!
News to Know
SCSD2 has one more 2-hour professional development session for teachers. We'll have a 2-hour early dismissal on Wednesday, May 22nd. SMS will dismiss at 12:55 that day. Teachers will spend the afternoon reviewing NWEA growth data and preparing to launch our Warrior Project in the fall. Mark your calendars and make your plans, you are going home early on May 22nd.

Rule Reminders
All students will be expected to use eHallPass if leaving the room to go to the restroom, locker, drinking fountain, office, another classroom, or the media center. If you want to use the restroom or locker, get permission, complete the pass, and leave your iPad in the room. If you are leaving the room to go where another adult is supervising, take your iPad with you. If you are called to the office, bring your iPad but don't start a pass. You will start a pass when you leave the office!
Our current dress code is the 'law of the land' until school is out on June 5th. Short shorts, totally shredded jeans, or jean shorts with holes are a problem if skin is showing above the outstretched fingertips. Facial piercings and undergarments must be covered. Thank you for taking care of business each and every school day!
SMS Archery at Nationals!
Spring Picture Preview Starts NOW
Spring Pictures are available for review during lunch today and tomorrow. If you like your pictures or if your parent/guardian has asked you to bring them home, you will SIGN FOR THEM.
Do not cut them up until you get them home and decide whether or not you are keeping them!
The next step is to either PAY FOR THEM or RETURN THEM.
You can pay with cash or check (payable to Lifetouch) every morning at a station in the main hall under the Warrior Window. The pay station will be open starting Wednesday, May 15th and will be collecting money until Wednesday, May 22nd. Parents can also pay for the packages online at the Lifetouch link on the main SMS web page. If you need to return the package, you also do that at the pay station. Get them back by May 22nd.
Remember, if you sign out your portrait package you are promising to return the photos or pay for them. Students who sign out a portrait package but do not return money or the photos will not be able to participate in their team’s end of year celebration. Students that did not return or pay for last year's packages will not be able to sign for packages this year. Parents of students with this unpaid debt can view (and purchase) pictures through the office.
