Steve Jobs is a Non-Fiction book written by Walter Isaacson. The book acts as a timeline, as we learn about Jobs life from birth to now and everything in between. This book allows readers to get very in-depth information about the life of Steve Jobs, almost as if you were to know him personally.
Connecting to the Real World
Parents
Jobs biological parents, Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Schieble, were graduate students at the University of Wisconsin. They had Jobs at an early age and shortly after they put him up for adoption. Having children at a young age in a VERY common thing we see today.
Behavior
Throughout Steve life, he had some behavior problems. During his childhood, he spent most of his time pulling pranks and getting into trouble. This relates to our world because many children have behavior problems. In high school Jobs spent most of his spare time doing drugs such as LSD and Marijuana. His teen years reflect that of which we see in todays society. It's cool to see how a normal, bad behaved child became one of the most influential people in the world.
Ruined Friendships
When they made "Breakout" for Atari, Wozniak and Jobs were going to split the pay 50-50. Atari gave Jobs $5000 to do the job. He told Wozniak he got $700 so Wozniak took home $350. We saw something similar to this when we learned about Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg, like Steve Jobs, also cheated his good friend out of money. In the world, there are many instances where people lie or stab others in the back.
