As usual, I hope this newsletter finds you well. If you have any questions about any of the information in the newsletter, please don't hesitate to call us.


HMS Students will be taking IAR tests on March 21-24, 2023. Please remind your students to get plenty of sleep, charge their chromebooks and eat a proper breakfast in preparation for this test. Most important, remind your student to DO THEIR BEST!

Monday: PJ Day

Tuesday: Tacky Tuesday (Wear mismatched clothing)

Wednesday: Holiday Day (Dress for your favorite holiday)

Thursday: Backwards Day

Friday: Sports Day


*School Appropriate clothing is still required during Spirit Week. Jeans/Pants with exposed skin are not allowed on any day at HMS.

**Participation in Spirit Week is not mandatory. If your child chooses not to participate, they should wear their school uniform.

NJHS created blankets for animals in the animal shelter. A total of over 11 blankets were made! Pictures below are students working on the blankets and the animals enjoying the warmth the blankets provide.

A Message from Nurse Anita

  • March brings us closer to the end of cold and flu season! Please keep sick students at home and encourage frequent handwashing to protect others.

  • Students should stay home until they are well enough to participate and are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. Once your student starts improving, please test for covid and send back to school with a negative result ASAP!

  • Washing your hands is easy, and it's the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Covid home test kits will continue to be given to students sent home with covid symptoms.

  • “Once a week, take a peek” We continue to see lice cases; please check your child’s hair weekly to prevent an outbreak in your home.

  • For those who signed up, Miles of Smiles Dental van will be at HMS April 5th.
