From the Principal's Office
Dear Braintree Families,
Students at Braintree are learning so much. We have lots of exciting learning projects along with our focus on reading, writing, and mathematics. The trout have hatched and students in the upper grades will be presenting their learning to the whole school on Thursday, January 27th at the all school assembly. Students in grades 1-6 will continue learning robotics with an emphasis on applied mathematics. Students have begun to work with ceramics and each Friday we plan to continue offering clay as an art option. We look forward to firing some glazed pieces soon. These are just some of the fun things going on at our school.
Reminder: January 27th is our Dress up for Vermont USA day. Remember to wear your Vermont clothes and/or your clothes to celebrate the USA.
Important update: the Covid Guidance has changed. The new guidance allows students to attend school as long as they do not have symptoms. More details are below.
Wishing you a healthy and relaxing weekend,
Heather Lawler

Updated Covid Guidance for the Vermont Agency of Education
What should we do if our school runs low or doesn't have testing supplies? If a school does not have enough test kits on hand to distribute to students who are presumptive contacts (school exposure), students should continue to come to school. Those who have been identified as close contacts (community exposure) or who are experiencing continuous exposure at home should follow the Health Department's quarantine guidance. Any student who has COVID-19 symptoms should stay home from school. However, schools should not prevent students from attending school based on whether or not they have tested, and it is not the school's responsibility to enforce compliance with Health Department guidance.
