ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING
Why assessment beifit the whole class not just the students.
Five key strategies
#1: Clarifying, understanding and sharing learning intentions.
#2: Engineering effective classroom discussions. Tasks and activities that elict evidence of learning.
#3: Providing feedback that moves learners forward.
#4: Activating students as learning resources for one another.
#5: Activating students as owners of their own learning.
Formative and summative assessments
Both of these assessments are key to teacher in the classroom and helping teach each of the students to the fullest. Formative assessments let the teacher know what they need to do next within the classroom to teach the students where summative assessments give you an overall outcome for a subject at that time of what students knows, understands and can do.
If teacher use the 5 strategies that are talked about in the video Assessments for Learning it would benefit them as much as the students because they will help you learn what the students need more help in. Also if you did both types of assessments within the classroom you would work them together. In the video it talked about using a green, red and yellow system, which color means a different level of understanding. Green= you understand and could explain it yellow= you need more help t understand and red= you don't understand it at all, the green help the red well the teacher helps the yellow. I love this system.
