Staff Spotlight
Meet Jenn Hermansen. Mrs. Hermansen is a teacher’s aide who works in one of our Special Education classrooms. Students may remember that she used to be an aide on the playground and in the cafeteria. She lives in Bountiful with her husband, Tyler, and her three boys. One is in high school, one is in Jr high, and one is in Elementary. They have 2 dogs, Bob and Lizzie; 2 cats, Dusty and Abby; 4 snakes, Charles, Cornelius, Atreyu, and Slytherin. Although you’ll never see Mrs. Hermansen touch any of the snakes.
Mrs. Hermansen’s favorite things to eat are baked potatoes, lemonade zero, and chocolate. She likes the song “Shut up and Dance” by Walk the Moon, the color purple, and the movie The Princess Bride. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because of lots of family and good food.
In high school Mrs. Hermansen worked the summers in West Yellowstone at a motel. It was the first introduction she had to living on her own. She had 3 roommates and we lived and worked at the motel the whole summer. She had to grocery shop, cook meals, and run the whole motel. As a teenager!
Mrs. Hermansen used to scrapbook and play the flute. Currently, she enjoys cake decorating and hanging out with the family. She’s the only Meadowbrook staff member who has won Miss South Salt Lake. She loves Meadowbrook because all of her kids have gone to Meadowbrook, and it is a place that helps kids grow! Her favorite quote is: “You get what you get and you don't throw a fit.”
