Hawk Talk
November 8th-12th
A Message from the Principal
Hobby Family,
Thank you for your amazing work and support of Hobby Middle School. As we face challenges throughout the school year, please continue to keep the faith and turn those challenges into our defining moments of success or growth. Together, "we got this."
As we approach Veterans Day, it is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day out of the year, we stand united in respect for our veterans.
This holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died serving our country and was originally called Armistice Day. Armistice Day, the day marked at the end of World War I, was formally recognized on the “11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month” in 1918.
However in 1954, the holiday was changed to "Veterans Day" in order to account for all veterans in all wars.
Hobby Middle School will continue the tradition of Honoring our Veterans by having a Flag Raising on Thursday November 11, at the start of first period (8:40 AM) Teachers will take their first period class after they take attendance.
If you are a Veteran or know someone who is a Veteran and would like to be honored please fill out this form or call the front office 210-397-6300.
Praise, Promote & Protect.
As always, You Matter!
