Principal's Message
Wow. What a week. Thank you all for your patience and support as we navigate this uptick in COVID cases at school. We’ve had as many this week as we’ve had all year thus far. Luckily with the high numbers of vaccinated students we haven’t had to do as many forced quarantines, but for those students who are having to quarantine my heart goes out to you all. I know this is incredibly challenging for students and families, and there is a lot of worry about students falling behind, missing class, etc.
I am impressed daily by our teachers’ willingness to bend over backwards to support students who are out due to COVID or other reasons. Teachers recognize the difficulty this is presenting to their students, and are incredibly flexible with tasks, assignments, and ensuring opportunities for the students to learn what they have missed. If you are so inclined, please send a quick thank you note to your kid’s teachers. They could certainly use it right now. This is weighing on them tremendously.
There are some additional COVID updates and reminders below, most of which have been sent out in other BSD communications. At ISB we have students that are resilient, committed, and community oriented. And while masks and hand-sanitizer will get us a long way, it’s our sense of connection to and caring for each other that will ultimately see us through.
