PrinciPAW's Post
As many of you know, one of our Shreve Island families suffered a car accident this past week on the way to school. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers that were offered for that family. We are so thankful that the children in the car were restrained properly and sustained only minor injuries. Times like this help us remember the value of taking every safety precaution when we load our kids in our vehicles.
September 18th - 24th is National Child Passenger Safety Week. In acknowledgement of this, we have provided Louisiana regulations for child restraint below. We will also hold a car seat drive beginning October 10th. If your children have outgrown their car seats or booster seats, bring the seats to Shreve Island and we will make sure each one is safe to use and goes to a family in need. Additionally, we will be scheduling a team of State Police officers to do a voluntary car seat inspection to help make sure everything is secured properly and safely in your vehicle. There will be no tickets written; just advice for keeping children safe. If you need help obtaining the car seats and/or booster seats you need to ensure your child is safe, please let us know.
