OLVCS Updates
Led By the Spirit..........................February 13, 2020
Good afternoon,
We have off on Monday, Happy President's Day!
Middle States Accreditation: OLVCS is accredited through Middle States Association. https://www.msa-cess.org/ To become accredited, or re-accredited as in our case, there are many steps to follow. We completed surveys, reflected on the surveys and wrote a self-study report.
Just a few weeks ago we submitted the self-study, and just last week had a Pre-Visit meeting with the chair of the committee. The great news is all went well and we will host a team March 1st - March 4th who will conduct an accreditation visit.
This team will review the report and observe first hand all operations of the school. On the last day of their visit the team will present their findings to school personnel.
It is a Middle States requirement that we dismiss early that last day so that the oral report can be given to the entire faculty and staff.
With all that being said, we will dismiss at 11:00 on Wednesday, March 4th. SCASD, has agreed to transport our students at that time, and we are currently working with the other districts to provide transportation. We can not offer ASAP on that day.
Make it a Great Day!
~ Mrs. Weakland
Next week: off, D, M, A, B

The Box Tops Program has gone digital! Get the App and help OLV
You will need to get the BoxTops app on your phone, sign up indicating OLV as preferred school and then scan your store receipts.
- It is a very simple process to scan your receipt.
- The app will automatically determine if your receipt contains BoxTops products and will give the school credit for the purchases.
If you are not sure if you purchased any BoxTops products, you can still scan your receipt and the app will just state that there are no eligible products. There are ongoing promotions and sweepstakes in the app as well that will earn the school additional money.

Announcing State College Teener League 2020 Spring Baseball Registration
Registration for Spring 2020 Teener League Baseball is now open for all divisions at www.statecollegeteener.com. Spring is fast approaching, and 13-14 Player Evaluations will be held in March (location and date TBA). Full registration by that time is expected.
***PLEASE NOTE: Due to changes in Little League's age eligibility rules, all players that aged out of Little League this past year are eligible to play State College Teener League baseball.***
Player evaluations are not a "tryout". All registered players will be assigned to a team. The evaluations help Managers draft competitive teams.
The vast majority of our practices and games are on weekdays. This keeps weekends free for family time and for any tournaments that travel ball players may have.
Each year we have a number of travel ball players in our league and most find our league schedule blends well with their travel schedule. You'll also note that our game schedule begins about a month earlier than most tournament seasons, providing plenty of actual game reps prior to tournament play. We even offer at least one free tournament each year.
In addition to the baseball season, the registration fee also includes the following:
Free entrance to one or more baseball clinics conducted by area high school coaches and college teams;
Opportunity to play in one or more baseball tournaments at no extra charge (if selected, based on interest level);
Opportunity for All-Star play, which is usually a minimum of 5 games (if selected, small additional fee applies). This is a great experience, and we won the 2017 13/14 Teener League PA State Championship.
We're always looking for great coaches, Board members and other volunteers. Also, we're currently looking for a concession stand coordinator. Please contact me at scteener@gmail.com if you're interested in any of these positions..
