Congratulations to Mrs. Hutton
She stated "It has been a pleasure working with and getting to know a lot of you on a personal basis over the years. It is always hard to say goodbye but everything always has a beginning, a middle and an end. I have enjoyed being a part of our Hanawalt family at work as well as our Hanawalt parents and students, and I will miss all of you."
We are planning to do a card retirement party for Mrs. Hutton on December 21st. If you would like to send or make a card, please join us in showering her with gratitude and congratulation by mailing or dropping off a card.

PTA & Equity Meeting Follow-Up
Thank you to all who were able to join us for the PTA meeting on Tuesday night. If you missed the presentation by Peter LeBlanc, stay tuned as we hope to have a video recording to send out.
We hope that the PTA creates a safe space for all parents as our goal is to help serve every Hanawalt student and family. If you have ideas on how to make the work of the PTA more accessible and equitable, we would love your input. Please email us at hanawaltelementarypta@gmail.com
We can’t complete our mission alone. If you would like to get involved in the PTA community, please connect with us. Your view and your voice matter to us!
Read-a-thon 2020: Bingo for Books
Our read-a-thon is up and running! We’d love for you to support our efforts to make improvements to both the physical space of the Media Center but also in updating our collection to make it as diverse as our students.
We have 3 different ways that you can donate to our read-a-thon
· Submit a donation through our Hanawalt PTA store http://hanawaltcommunity.com/product/bingoforbooks/
· Buy books for your home collection through our Follett Book Fair. A portion of each sale goes to our cause https://efairs.follettbookfairs.com/guest/home?classCode=K58R1
· Donate through FollettWish to give funds directly to updating our book collection https://www.titlewish.com/1093669
Bingo boards have been added to your student’s Team accounts or you can download from our website. We hope that the bingo boards are a fun, easy way to encourage your student to read!
