Viva la Vida Parade & Festival
We had such a fantastic time at Mexicarte's annual Viva La Vida Parade last weekend! Thanks to all the families who came and marched with us! It was great to show off our school with the greater Austin community.
Student Assembly Celebrates Creativity
At AIS our core values encourage our community to be Creative. We take creative risks that help us learn and grow as individuals and in teams. This month we celebrated the following students and staff who are creative: Madeleine S., Eloise S., Rosha C., Theo M., Amelia H., Nayla S., Roman P., Adrienne J., Oliver B., Micaela Z., Valerie T., Vivienne H., Sacha B., Marcelo Q., Jude P., Mateo S., Gabrielle B., Quinn J., & Pablo F.; and Mr. Cedric, Ms. Cindy, & Mr. Joel.
Spirit Week
What a fun-filled Spirit Week! We loved seeing the crazy hats, pattern overload, tiny Texans, and displays of AIS pride. Thanks and kudos to all for participating!
Monster Dash
What a fantastic Fund Run! Good job to all our little Monsters who ran, dragged, and zombied their way to the finish line. We couldn't have pulled it off without all our staff and parent volunteers, so thank you, thank you, thank you for your help and time.
So far, we have earned $8753 towards our Fund Run goal of $10,000. So, continue collecting those pledges through the end of the month to help us reach that finish line! We will pass along your lap total for all those per lap pledges this week. Donations (or belated registration) payments can still be submitted here.
Our funds raised to date is in big part to all our Monster Sponsors: The Johnson, Pasgar, De la Sierra Llorente, Musalem, Cruz Hernandez, Waelbroeck, Mateo Smith, Truchard, Havens, Locke, & Losada Families! Thanks for the extra support.
The Fund Run helps fund our annual giving goals to offset the delta between tuition dollars received per student and the higher expenses we spend per student. So, every dollar given enables more resources for our students, staff, and school.
Class Gala Raffle Baskets
We look forward to collecting our Gala class student raffle baskets on Monday from Room Parents. Baskets will be displayed in reception. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and go on sale next week. We will pull the lucky basket winners at the International Potluck on Friday, 11/22.
Thanksgiving Food Drive-Nov. 4 thru Nov. 21
Our Student Council Representatives are hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive from Monday, November 4 through Thursday, November 21 through the Austin Food Bank.
Last year we raised $724, and this year we would like to up our goal to $900. We need your help to reach our goal.
You can give to our Thanksgiving Food Drive in 3 ways:
1.) Donate funds to our Virtual Food Drive:
- Every $1 makes 4 meals! Austin Food Bank can stretch a dollar a lot further than someone can at a grocery store because of their partnerships and bulk orders.
- Austin Food Bank can buy and distribute fresh produce, and perishable frozen and refrigerated foods to people, which are often healthier options!
- 96% of all donated resources Austin Food Bank receives go directly to the community through programs and food distributions.
2.) Bring food to school and placing it in the Food Drive boxes at in the reception area:
Click here for what to donate: Be sure to give items that are healthy, non-perishable food, items which are intact, un-opened, items in consumer or commercial packaging, items with non-breakable packaging (no glass please), and food within the expiration date on the packaging.
3.) Donate food and funds!
Please let us know if you have any questions, and thank you for participating in our Thanksgiving Food Drive!
